ERIONT

Shopify partner work · Since 2006

A Shopify app development company that ships past App Store review.

Public-listed apps, private apps for Plus merchants, theme extensions, checkout extensions, and Shopify Functions — built on Shopify CLI, GraphQL Admin API, Polaris, and App Bridge. Engineered to survive Shopify's three-API-version-a-year cycle and the App Store reviewer queue.

What we build on Shopify

Six engineering surfaces — most agencies ship on two.

Public Shopify apps

Listed on the Shopify App Store, monetised via Shopify Billing API. Built with App Bridge and Polaris, embedded inside Shopify admin. Subject to App Store review.

Private (custom) apps

Used by a single Plus merchant, never listed. No App Store review, no marketing — just the workflow you need. The most common ask we get from Plus brands.

Custom storefronts via Storefront API

Headless front-ends on Next.js that talk to your Shopify catalog and cart via the Storefront API. Sometimes paired with a private admin app on the backend.

Theme app extensions

App blocks merchants can drag-and-drop into 2.0 themes — for reviews, badges, currency switchers, custom upsells, anything theme-resident.

Checkout extensibility

Checkout UI extensions on Shopify Plus — custom upsells, address validators, gift options, B2B credit checks. Modern alternative to deprecated checkout.liquid.

Shopify Functions

Server-side discount, shipping, and payment customisation written in Rust/WASM. Replaces Shopify Scripts. Useful for bespoke promo logic and B2B pricing.

Common asks

The Shopify app workflows merchants ask us to build.

Bespoke product configurators

Made-to-measure, made-to-order, jewellery customisers, signage builders. The shopper picks options, the price recalculates, the order routes to production.

ERP / Tally / Zoho sync apps

Two-way sync between Shopify and your accounting/inventory backend. Stock levels, sales, GST invoices, returns — kept consistent without manual export.

B2B and wholesale apps

Tiered pricing, customer-specific catalogs, quote-to-order, credit limits, NET-30 invoicing inside a Plus store.

WhatsApp + SMS lifecycle apps

Order confirmations, dispatch updates, abandoned cart, COD verification, and post-delivery feedback — wired to WhatsApp Business API.

Subscription + recurring billing

Custom subscription apps using Shopify’s subscription APIs, with bespoke billing rules off-the-shelf apps don’t support.

Marketplace and dropship apps

Multi-vendor split orders, supplier dashboards, automated PO generation, and commission tracking.

The stack

Shopify-native tooling, top to bottom.

We use what Shopify themselves use and recommend. No proprietary wrappers, no walled-off frameworks, no Liquid hacks that break next quarter.

How we ship

Four phases, including App Store submission.

  1. 01

    Spec & feasibility

We define the workflow the app replaces, list every Shopify API surface required, and flag anything Shopify forbids (some workflows still need partner-launch approval).

    1 week

  2. 02

    Design embed UX

Figma flows for the admin embed using Polaris components. Shopify reviewers reject apps that don't feel native — we design for review-pass on the first submission.

    1–2 weeks

  3. 03

    Build & QA

Iterative builds against your dev store. Webhook reliability, OAuth flows, billing edge cases, multi-shop scenarios all tested. App Store submission package prepared.

    4–10 weeks

  4. 04

    Submit & support

For public apps: App Store submission with screenshots, demo video, and listing copy. We handle reviewer questions. Then SLA-backed maintenance and feature releases.

    Submission ~2–4 weeks · ongoing

Honest answers

FAQs about Shopify app development.

Are you a Shopify app development company or just a Shopify theme agency?

App developers. We build embedded admin apps, theme app extensions, checkout extensions, and Shopify Functions — the engineering surfaces, not just themes. Themes we'll do alongside an app build, but the lead capability is app development on Shopify CLI + GraphQL Admin API.

How long does it take to publish a Shopify App Store app?

Build is 6–14 weeks for a single-feature app. App Store review typically takes 2–4 weeks for the first submission, with one round of reviewer notes addressed in 3–7 days. Total time from kickoff to live listing is usually 10–18 weeks.

What does Shopify app development cost?

Private apps for a single Plus merchant: ₹4–15 lakh. Public single-feature App Store apps: ₹6–18 lakh including submission and first revision round. Multi-feature SaaS-grade public apps: ₹15–40 lakh+. See the pricing table above for ranges and what's included.

Do you build for Shopify Plus specifically?

Yes. Plus-specific surfaces — checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, B2B catalogs, multi-store synchronisation — are a sweet spot. Most app work for established brands ends up Plus-only because the workflows aren't possible on the standard plan.

Will the app survive Shopify's quarterly API version drops?

If we maintain it, yes. The Shopify Admin API version drops three times a year and deprecated fields get removed on a ~12-month schedule. Maintenance retainer covers version upgrades within scope. Without a retainer, an app left untouched for 18 months will need a non-trivial rebuild.

Can you list the app on the Shopify App Store and handle reviews?

Yes. We prepare the listing copy, screenshots, demo video, privacy policy, and data-handling documentation. We respond to reviewer notes during the App Store submission process. After approval, we monitor reviews, respond to merchant questions, and roll fixes into the next release.

Who owns the app — us or you?

You. The Partner organisation, app records, repo, App Store listing, and Shopify Billing setup all transfer to your Shopify Partner account once published. We can host and maintain it under SLA, but ownership is yours from day one.

Do you take on rescue / hand-off projects?

Yes, with an honest scoping pass first. Many rescue projects need partial rewrites — a stalled Remix app on a deprecated API version is often faster to rebuild against the current SDK than to surgically patch. We give you that read before quoting.

Got a Shopify workflow gap?

Send the merchant URL (or just the plan), the workflow you're trying to support, and any apps you've already tried. We'll send back a scope in 2 business days — private vs public, build cost, timeline, and a feasibility check against Shopify's policies.
